Easiest guide to buying a car

So you’ve decided to buy a new car. Doesn’t matter if its because you’ve got tired of smelling everyone's armpits in public transport, or because your ex-wife took the old one on her way out.

The following steps with ensure that you’re buying what you need in the right price. Failing to use those tips could result in wasting thousands of dollars, and make the process slow and depressing. But the best part about it all, is that if you’ll follow those steps, you’ll be put in charge of the whole deal-making process - and that feeling of empowerment, and who doesn't want that?

Decided if you’ve got the dough:
Doesn't matter if its a bank, credit union or online lender, chances are you’ll  need that money to buy your car. Decide how much are you willing to shell out, and where will this money come from. Cash is always better especially in car dealerships, but if you dont want to move around town with your whole life savings any other way will suffice. Always check other options when it comes to choosing a car, maybe that one option you haven’t thought of would be cheaper and better for you in the long run - you never know.

Find the wheels:
As you’re looking for a car, remember to take its location into consideration. sometimes it would be cheaper to buy it even form a different state and bring back home, than to lets say - buy it from the guy in town. Again, try to be flexible when choosing, that color may look bad on a picture but it might be that shade of pink you’ve been dreaming of - plus it’s 10% off the price.

Do your homework, and bring a mechanic:
Get all the prices you can, and call everyone to find out the best deal. Even when confronting with a very stubborn seller, its always better to meet face to face and show him what’s the situation on the market. Most importantly if its a used car, bring someone with you to inspect it - or better yet ask the owner for a certified check up.While you take it for a test drive remember, that paint maybe brand new, but you never know who played with that gear before you.

Try, Try and Try again:
start to negotiate the price, use anything you know and heard of even if it means weaving your hands in the air and speaking in Turkish. You know your price range by now, and you must have seen a couple of those cars, you should know by now if it worth it or not. In case the conversation turn ugly, tell the owner you’ll call him in a couple of days, and than call after a week. If that didn't break him, nothing will.

Sign the deal:
Maybe that trick worked, or maybe you’re talented in speaking fluent Turkish, but by now you should have the cash  (or check) in hand sitting inform of the papers. Take your time, read every small print and stay focused all the while. Did anything change with the car from previous negotiation. Or maybe the owner if fleeing the country, just double check everything to be sure. When  everything is fine - and all the papers are signed in blood. Its time for your first ride in your new car. Nothing like listening to some AC\DC while you drive, what that? the radio is broken? well, better luck next time!
